Okay, that's a totally lame title but I shall blow pass that!

Who was I this year for Anime Expo? CAPTAIN OLIMAR!
([link]) But a female version because not even all the self confidence in the world could bring me to wear a bald cap with three tuffs of hair O_O. My cousin "Yaoi Shieldon ;D" (no, she's not a boy) was my Pikmin!

My costume was basically a yellow long sleeved shirt (that I had to make, gosh darn for not finding a real long sleeve shirt O_O) stitched with black detail (that the backpack I made covered...'__'...three Gatorade bottle caps painted red and hot glued, as well as a lid covered with yellow fabric and something painted silver and glued on it. Then I made the skirt by sewing in a hula hoop XD which my mom helped greatly with because I was busy packing. The backpack was a box with cloth and various glued things on it and my helmet (I wanted an acrylic globe but my mom said no way no how ) was a very ghetto silver styrofoam ring that I painted, wire, and cellophane wrap. And tape. The ball was a styrofoam ball with red glitter. It was all kinda last minute.

My poor Yaoi though! She made her feet by pulling yellow rubber gloves over Converse to look like the Pikmin feet, then spray-painting it red...but the paint peeled horribly when she put them on and at the end of the day, they looked sort of liked bloody chicken feet. Not only that--we couldn't go the first because of summer tutoring, and she couldn't go the second because she had a fever. The third and fourth just seemed so short to us!

However, we went to our FIRST GATHERING EVER! YAY! Super Smash Brothers Brawl! We were a little sad because there were no other Pikmin cosplays, but we ended up meeting a lot of cool people, like an awesome Lucario and CAPTAIN LINEBECK (we're both LOZ: PH fans XD). It was a really fun time and well organized. (I was so glad we weren't standing in the sun!!!) And we later met two people as Coughin's from Pokemon! (did I spell that right? =O)!


I didn't get to meet any dA friends though! *sad*
And I still haven't gotten the pictures back from Yaoi. Thank goodness for all the other people who upload photos! <333

Shockingly I didn't make myself poor on merchandise. In fact, I hardly bought anything O_O...except a LOZ: PH plushie and a necklace with Ciela inside (that me and Yaoi got two dollars off because the guy said our costumes were awesome!! <333 XD YAYYYY)...a takoyaki keychain, and a wig. Which I realized that I have the same one of when I got home <--what a waste.

Last year we were female Roxas and Sora...and this year we were female Olimar and Pikmin. What shall we be next year? WELL, I really want to do one particular pairing feminized... ;D but we'll see what the future has in store!

Overall, the con just exuded awesome.
